Welcome To Shilpgram

Shilpgram is a rural arts and crafts village located 3 km west of Udaipur. Established in 1986 by the West Zone Cultural Centre, it promotes traditional Rajasthani and Indian handicrafts, music, and dance. Spread over 70 acres, the complex features huts and exhibits representing the lifestyles of rural artisans from Rajasthan, Gujarat, and beyond. Shilpgram hosts an annual fair in December, attracting artisans and visitors globally, making it a vibrant showcase of India’s cultural diversity and craftsmanship.

Shilpgram

Shilpgram was conceived to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of western India, particularly Rajasthan and Gujarat. Inaugurated in 1986, this sprawling complex replicates a traditional village with mud huts, each adorned with artifacts, textiles, and crafts made by local artisans. The annual Shilpgram Utsav, held in December, transforms the site into a bustling fairground where craftsmen sell pottery, jewelry, and embroidered goods while folk performances enthrall visitors. Set against the Aravalli backdrop, Shilpgram offers an immersive experience into rural life and artistic traditions, making it a unique cultural destination near Udaipur.
