Welcome To Saheliyon ki Bari

Saheliyon ki Bari, or the 'Garden of Maidens,' is a beautiful garden in Udaipur built in the 18th century by Maharana Sangram Singh for the royal ladies. Known for its lush greenery, marble fountains, and lotus pools, it offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s bustle. The garden’s centerpiece is its intricately designed fountains, which operate without pumps, relying on gravity-fed water from Fateh Sagar Lake. A fine example of Rajput aesthetics, Saheliyon ki Bari remains a popular spot for its serene ambiance and historical charm.

Saheliyon ki Bari

Saheliyon ki Bari was commissioned by Maharana Sangram Singh in the early 18th century as a gift to his queen and her 48 attendants, offering them a space for leisure and relaxation. The garden’s engineering marvel lies in its fountains, crafted to function using natural water pressure from Fateh Sagar Lake, a testament to the ingenuity of the era. Adorned with kiosks, marble elephants, and vibrant flowerbeds, it exudes tranquility and royal elegance. Visitors today enjoy its cool shade, the sound of trickling water, and the historical anecdotes that echo through its pathways, making it a cherished part of Udaipur’s heritage.
